Downtown Austin is ever-changing, and we are excited to put our stamp on the city’s evolution. We recently partnered with Harvey Cleary Builders and TBG Partners on a new mixed-use landmark destination for work, shopping, and dining in the heart of the city.
Our work began early with a pre-construction phone call. We were tasked with taking the initial schematics and translating the design into structural engineering and practical fabrication reality.
The center of this project was the unique laser-cut honeycomb trellis system with dual-layer infill. Supported by pipe columns and branches, the structure was custom-fabricated and finished with high-performance paint to ensure a high-quality look. Projects like this highlight our ability to tailor designs to any site condition.
Installing these elements in a dense urban center is not easy, and installing on the 19th floor is even harder! It took precise coordination to hoist materials via crane to the 19th-floor amenity terrace safely. Once the materials were placed, our field finishing team applied the final touches to make sure every detail was spot-on.
Beyond the pavilion, we engineered and fabricated curved planters with custom paint finishes, resulting in several hundred linear feet of planters throughout the property. These aren’t just boxes for plants; they map out elegant lines across the site, guiding visitors through the space and elevating the landscape.
Big kudos to the team for managing the hustle and bustle of a downtown project! From the heavy lifting to the final paint touch-ups on the 19th floor, our crew went the extra mile to ensure the finish quality matched the vision of the design. We can translate any design to reality, like in our planter portfolio, and can ship anywhere in the country to fit your needs.
