Bill Thorne

Bill lives by the advice his dad gave him: do your best and “leave it all out on the field.” He applies that drive to his leadership role, drawing on over 20 years of experience in landscape architecture, project management, and construction. Today, his role covers everything from personal coaching to growing the business. He still loves walking into the shop just to see what cool new thing is being built. His advice to new-hires is to keep an open mind, think outside the box, and enjoy the ride.

What do you enjoy most about working at Renfrow+Co?

The challenge of the industry that I’m still learning. Enjoyment is in the diversity of the projects.

Which of the Renfrow+Co points of emphasis resonates the most with you?

Creative Craftsman. It takes creativity and knowledge to construct and build what these architects dream up. It’s one thing to think it up; it’s another to apply it.

Who was the most influential person to you as a child?

My dad. He always taught me to do the best I could and leave it all out on the field. To always strive to be the best. He gave me the tools to be able to do that.

If you could possess one super-human power, what would it be?

Time travel. I’d go all the way back to elementary school and learn from my mistakes.

What is your hidden talent?

Staying level-headed and calm under pressure, and navigating an issue. I’ve always been a leader.
