For Service Corporation International’s new $150 million headquarters, we teamed up with general contractor Harvey Builders, property owner Hines, and landscape architects HOK to build a custom outdoor deck space. Situated along Buffalo Bayou, the Class A podium building was designed with long-term flood resilience and community connection at its core. The centerpiece of the deck build is a custom cantilevered shade pavilion featuring structural steel with a composite slat infill. To tie the outdoor workspace together, we engineered a matching screen wall built with wood slats and steel columns that echoes the geometry of the shade structure.
