The award-winning community of Bridgeland spans more than 11,000 acres and is home to roughly 65,000 residents. We’ve worked with Howard Hughes Holdings, developer of Bridgeland, on many projects over the years, and we always look forward to what the renowned developer has for us next. The concept of a large community space was brought to our team by SWA Group, the landscape architect chosen for the project, during the pre-construction phase. The highlight of the space? A 2D drawing of a butterfly sculpture they hoped to include in the plans.

Tapping into the imagination of SWA Group’s talented landscape architects, we fabricated elements of the space to make it the stand-out community gathering area it’s become. Our scope included a wagon wheel spoke canopy with a sun shade made of vibrant colors, artistic fencing and gates made of laser cut carbon steel panels with a powder coated finish. We also created a colorful pavilion design-built and engineered by our team. The dream of the butterfly was transformed into a stainless steel, dichroic acrylic sculpture that is a fully functioning piece of fine art, capable of spinning in place.

We are grateful for the incredible collaborators we had on this project, as well as the opportunity to show our ability to execute a project, from pre-construction to installation. Through a little imagination, we created custom landscape elements that are both practical and beautiful for Bridgeland Prairieland residents to use and enjoy.
